By serving on mission during college, students see the global church and how to be a part of it. They experience the need for our dependence on God, and I can’t think of something more important or critical to learn while in college.

Nehemiah Teams is one of the ways that the International Mission Board allows college students to engage in hands on missions. You can go and work along side missionaries an experience the culture and help those missionaries reach their people groups int that area.

Being in Memphis working with Muslim refugees really showed me the importance of the reaching the unreached peoples here in the United States. You don’t have to go over seas to share the gospel, but you can just go next door.

I didn’t feel qualified to do this…. but God gave me every opportunity. He gave me the words to say. He reminded me of the stories to tell and how to tell the stories. This allowed me to love on them and they could see Christ through me!

My mission trip opened my eyes to the rest of the world.

Getting to see all the people we had met, people who were believers, people who had just heard the gospel for the first time, people we had just met, coming together in this one big story line of how God had been at work was really, really special to me.

Every day we would pray and out of the blue God would bring someone across our path that we got to share the gospel with.
